My little guy LOVES Star Wars and gets a kick out of playing Angry Birds Star Wars. So it made perfect sense this autumn season for us to decorate mini pumpkins as characters from Angry Birds Star Wars. With some basic supplies in hand, we spent a few hours over the weekend converting seven mini pumpkins into beloved characters: Luke Skywalker, Hans Solo, Chewbacca, r2d2, C-P3O, Yoda, & Darth Vader.

“Laugh it up, Fuzzball!”

For me, the best part of this project was the delightful time I had with my son. We laughed often, especially when we were gluing dark brown pompoms for our Chewbacca creation.

Though they take a little time, these mini pumpkins are fairly easy to make. Start off by googling “Angry Birds Star Wars Characters,” and you’ll be able to find some pictures of the different characters. We referred to these pictures often as we were decorating the pumpkins. For supplies, we found that acrylic paint worked best on the pumpkins and comes in a wide variety of colors. You’ll need glue, scissors, a black Sharpie, and some felt for the eyes, hair, clothing, and other accents on the characters. And that’s about it!
